Bio: Since it looks like work commitments will keep me away from the reunion, I’ll just have to write something up instead…
There are some events that you can remember in amazing detail, and for me one is the Chinook talent show our freshman year, where “The Elvis Allen Band” (Keith Allen -vocals, Bob Brave -bass, Gary Fuller -drums, me -guitar) performed “Jailhouse Rock”. We probably really didn’t sound all that great, but that event got me hooked on an activity that I would enjoy from then on.
Over the summer of 1978 I joined a band with some other misfits from Mt.Rainier HS, and ended up transferring there for Senior year. Being the “new rockstar guy”, I had a really, really great time that year.
Went to Arizona and got an engineering degree, also playing in some bands and doing some studio recording. Four years of being a poor student (and driving a 1967 Firebird without A/C!) in the hot-hot desert convinced me to never return to to such a hell hole.
Moved back to Seattle and over the next 15 years was an engineer in the aerospace, forest products, and audio/video recording fields, as well as, you guessed it, playing in some bands. At the beginning of the Seattle grunge movement, I ventured into business ownership, starting up a recording studio/video production facility. We did well and I got to work with quite a few extremely talented bands that most people have never heard of, however I eventually tired of the extremely long hours and stress levels involved, closing down in the early 90’s, and returned to the similarly exciting engineering profession.
Married in 1993 to Delana, and started a family, having two boys Arie (now 15) and Alex (12). Going against my previous vow, we moved to Arizona for several years and found it to be much nicer than I had remembered (could have something to do with now being able to afford a nice house with a pool and air conditioning?).
Next (and hopefully finally) we found ourselves mosey-ing on out to Texas, where in addition to my engineering career, we have a small ranch and raise critters of various size. We also picked up another boy, Logan (13) who is our little “heredity -vs- environment” experiment, rescueing him from a path and homelife that was sure to not turn out well.
Overall I feel quite fortunate about how the past 30 years have gone, and the fact that I’m still alive and kicking. Hopefully I’ll be able to make it to the 40th reunion and catch up with y’all there!

Bio: After High School I left for Alaska to resume spending my summer fishing on a commercial salmon seiner. I enrolled at Green River Community College after the summer and spent the next two years bouncing back and forth between fishing and studying. I then decided to join the Navy, this was quite the change but just what I needed. The Navy was as advertised (Not just a Job an Adventure). I experienced quite an array of different experiences and personalities, with many challenges during this time. In 1985 I decided to leave the Navy and head home.
In 1986 I was hired by the Boeing Company. This turned out to be a good decision for me, I was ready for a steady job with less travel. I met my wife through a co-worker in 1989 and was married in 1990. I am still married to her and have a 17 year old girl who will be a senior at Kentridge this fall. I also have a son who will be a sophomore this fall. We also have two dogs (Yorkies), and a cat. I still like to snow ski, fish, walk/hike, camp (at least once a year), read, and listen to great Rock & Roll! I love going to comedy shows and concerts with my wife, and we have passed these passions on to our daughter.
I see fellow alumni every now and then who still live in the area, I have been living in the Kent School district area for the last 12yrs, and currently live in Fairwood. I’m planning on making it to the reunion this summer, hope to see and chat with some old friends! Ken (79 rules!) remember the water tower behind Safeway!

Bio: After high school, I went to the University of Puget Sound on a music scholarship. But college opened my eyes to all sorts of possibilities and I changed from a music major to a science major. I did research on dolphins and sea otters and was all set to do graduate studies in biology when I discovered surgery while taking a physiology course. I changed gears and went to medical school in St. Louis. Research crept back into my life and I studied how certain medicines caused ultrastructural damage to heart muscle.
While in medical school, I started a non-profit agency that taught children how to protect themselves from child sexual abuse and how to get help if it had already happened. The agency provided services to over 8,000 each year for the seven years it operated. I wrote some book chapters on the subject, did a bunch of news interviews, and met some amazing people.
I eventually earned an MD and a PhD specializing in brain development. National Institutes of Health funded two of my research grants and so I was trying to do both research and clinical training…and run a non-profit, all at the same time. It was a little hectic. I spent a year training in radiology – decided it was not for me (although it has come back into my life). I then switched to Psychiatry and eventually moved to Denver, Colorado to do a Child Psychiatry fellowship Here, I’ve stayed. I have a private practice and treat mostly children, but also some adults. I specialize in autism, mental retardation, and complex psychopharmacology cases.
With my background in psychiatry, radiology, research, and neurobiology, I also became Chief Medical Officer of a functional neuroimaging company. Unfortunately, the company did not survive. Now, I do consulting with other neuroimaging companies.
After all that, over the last few years I’ve devoted myself to fatherhood and spend as much time as I can with my daughters. They are both adopted from China and are amazing individuals. I divorced about five years ago and the girls spend 50% of their time with me. My oldest is a quiet introvert and my youngest is a spunky, musical, extrovert.

Dru Jordan
Status: Significant Other
Occupation: Architectural and Design
Residence: Newcastle, Washington
Last Updated: 12.30.08
Bio: After high school graduation, I graduated with a degree in Art with a Business emphasis from SPU. After college, I continued to work for 13 Coins until I met my partner, Steve and I landed my first corporate job at Alaska Airlines in the frequent traveler program. Shortly after my 2 year anniversary and a year of supervisory experience, I joined Nintendo’s Consumer Service to manage a group of 60 employees.
During my 10 years at Nintendo, Steve and I built our current home in Newcastle WA and put his 2 children through college. With the kids out of the nest we became open to risk and both changed careers. Steve went to full commission sales. I posted a one man art show in a Pioneer Square gallery, which led to many commissioned pieces clients of our residential design business.
I moved to project management with JPC Architects where corporate interiors were built for local growing companies. At JPC, I saw many happy successful product reps who did fun things and I wanted to join them. 5 years after my start date, I left to join Allsteel, a national furniture manufacturer as an Architectural & Design Specialist. I covered the states of WA, OR and AK and initially loved the travel.
My enjoyment for travel and adventure competed directly with my love of my family and desire to be home. My 2 years of being on the road concluded when a local furniture dealership, Business Interiors Northwest, offered a similar job, more resources and travel coverage of the Puget Sound region. I’ve worked for BiNW for 2 years now and love what I do. I’m involved with the International Interior Designers Association. I’m passionate about sustainable design and future work place strategies.
Steve and I have been together for 22 years now. His daughter, Alyse, made us grandpas 6 years ago. Olivia Dru Galfano is my little princess. She reminds us of the simple pleasures in life. His son, Zack, married Michelle in February of ’07. Both live in the area so we see them frequently.
Steve and I enjoy our home, entertaining friends, our careers and most of all our family. In my spare time, I enjoy working on my bonsai collection, raising orchids in my greenhouse and painting oil on canvas.

I know how to fly fish now, I still don’t like touching the fish though! I have had a scary encounter with a grizzly out in the middle of nowhere, that was interesting. We have moose in our yard sometimes and they are very big.
