Bio: I was not much of a model student through Chinook and Tyee, (more like a pain in the butt to any and all faculty) and was therefore pulled from Tyee my senior year and placed me in an alternative class for disciplinary problems. I missed graduating by a couple of credits, so the following year I joined the Marine Corps trying to find some structure in my life. I like to think it worked as I stayed for 20 years. The Corps really turned my life around and allowed me the opportunity to grow, and achieve levels of leadership and responsibility I could have never imagined as a teen, not to mention travel the globe to places few every have the opportunity to see.
I married in 1986 and had a miracle son with her in 1990 after a battle with her having cancer. She left me soon after that and returned to the northwest. I began raising my son on my own when he was 3 years old while still managing my career as a Marine. I’ve managed to guide him into being a much better kid than I ever was by keeping him interested in sports especially football, his #1 passion. He graduated High School this year and will begin college in the fall.
As for me, I retired from the Corps in 2000 as a Gunnery Sergeant and returned to Washington, and bought a place in the upper Skagit Valley. I then used my disabled vet benefits to get a college degree in Environmental Conservation Technology, and am now working on a second retirement as a public employee working for the City of Sedro-Woolley.
Life is good, I have few regrets. It goes to show that even some of us early life screwballs can turn things around for the better…

Bio: After high school I moved to Arizona, where I met my wonderful husband of 27yrs!! After 10 years we moved back to Seatac and then to Kent.
I have 3 sons who have brought me great pride and joy. Billy 24yrs, AJ 22yrs and Spencer 19yrs. They all attended Tyee High!! The two oldest just graduated with BA’s from Western Washington University. My youngest is playing baseball for Greys Harbor College. Did I mention how proud I am of my boys???
I am an active, believing Christian and enjoy volunteering in my church. I love to party plan and watch my son play baseball. I work for Food Services of America and love my job!! I enjoy RVing with my hubby and going to visit with my boys in Bellingham and Aberdeen.
