Bio: I’ve been married for 21 years to Marc Anderson, a ‘79 Evergreen High School alumni. After Tyee, I graduated from Green River CC with a Court Stenography degree. Changed careers into the banking field then worked a few years at Rainier Golf & CC, Office Admin. We’re living on beautiful Three Tree Point. Some of you might remember this area to be a fun party spot in high school. Actually, it still is! Thanks to my wonderful husband, I’ve had the pleasure of not having to be employed the last few years which makes time for me to help take care of my father and enjoy life’s simple pleasures.

Jodi (Walker) Boulier
Marital Status: Married; six children
Occupation: Professional Gamer!
Residence: Eatonville, Washington
Last Updated: 07.26.09
Bio: I attended Highline Community College part time and earned my AA in ‘84 and started on my BA at Central. Boeing hired me and I then switched to going back to night school 5 credits at a time like I did my AA. I married Scott Falk in ‘86 and started my family. Brandon 1989 & Tara 1991. I put in 5 years with the Boeing Company in different area’s and ended up leaving the Finance world with the birth of Tara. They couldn’t pay me enough money to continue working and putting my kids in daycare!!! So, ended my career in Finance & going to school.
Being a full time mom was a new game for me…ok, life is a game and I play ton’s of them. I started to coupon shop and continued with my passion of playing contests. My contests have been something of passion since I was 16. Getting my groceries for free or paying very little to leave the store with a cart full of groceries was thrilling to me. I continued to work the system until I tired of it.
We lived in Auburn and Scott worked for Boeing and helped put together the Frederickson Site. So, we bought 20 acres and built two big house’s. Scott was laid off for a year taking time to himself and went to care for his mother where he had a massive heart attack and passed in his sleep right before his 40th birthday. His mother suffering from Cancer also died the following day. My life was turned upside down in a minute and I was widowed with two teenagers, Tara just turned 13 and Brandon 14.
Doing what I did best, I continued to contest and make my money that way. Surviving my first husband was really hard on me and I ran away from home 5 times the first year he was gone. Thanks for my dad who came to “baby sit” my teenagers while I was gone I kept my sanity!
Chapter Two of my life: One year later my son’s chicken crossed the street. He was returned to me by Katie and she went home and told her dad, Ron (he had just moved into the neighborhood) that he needed to come over and meet the neighbor lady…since I was a widow and his age. Need I say any more? Ron did just that and we started to date, he tucked my children under his wings and taught Brandon construction and Tara worked in his office since he had his own construction company.
I married Ronald Boulier in September 2007 at my parents house in Brinnon. My dad’s cancer had progressed so fast we had to cancel our big wedding and do just a family wedding. I wanted dad to know I was taken care of and so were my children. We lost dad in November which was really hard on all of us.
I’m happily married and living in Eatonville at the present with my new husband Ron and both of my children. My family has grown with the addition of his children 3 boys and 1 daughter all in their 20’s, 1 grandson and one on the way in August. My house has been on the market for 3 years now and lowering the price hasn’t helped. Both of my children are going to school, Brandon is attending Bates Technical College getting his CDL and Tara start’s Pierce in the fall. All of Ron’s kids have been out of the house for years now.
We are both retired right now but Ron is thinking of going back to work until we can sell one of our houses. I have the best life of not having to work and have been semi retired since 1991 but being retired brings more work than really working. Building two houses, selling them and keeping up two large homes at the present.
My contesting is my job “hobby” and keeps me company it brings in all kinds of prizes and phone calls for us all. I share with my family and win trips and have sent loved one’s on trips or win them exciting items. Daily its fun to see the mail lady come or when the UPS/FED Ex truck arrives…means I have a “paycheck” coming, a prize!!! I have added many more national contest’s to my daily routine of contesting, doing mail in’s, and continuing with the phone in’s and local tv. & radio one’s in case you hear me some day. I tried out for the Wheel of Fortune, but didn’t get picked….I can tell you it was pretty much rigged anyway.
Totally looking forward to seeing everyone at he reunion, the night will go fast so if I don’t get a chance to talk to everyone feel free to look me up in the phone book for Eatonville or if you are passing through call and come visit! My plans to attend the picnic have changed as my son’s name was drawn for Sunday afternoon to be 1 out of 5 people to try a key in a 2009 Harley Fat Boy at the NHRA races in Kent (the old SIR). Life of contests, always something exciting going on! Here’s cheers to the Class of ‘79!

Shirley Long: Faculty
Faculty Position: Counselor(1978 – 2003)
Residence: Kent, Washington
Last Updated: 06.15.09
Bio: I started at Tyee on August 26th of 1978. I remember the date because it was my husband’s birthday and I was attempting to make yeast bread. I got the call from Len Zevenbergen to come to work that day…and it was about noon when he called…so the bread never got baked…or at least it didn’t rise and bake properly…that’s what my husband had wanted for his birthday!
I jumped in full time after that and never looked back until 1982 when I was “riffed” and had to go to Satellite Alternative School to teach for a year. It was quite boring after having been at Tyee where so much happened all the time that I came to expect action. Being class advisor for Class of ‘79 was the most fun thing I did while a high school counselor. Up until that time I had never even been to a prom or home coming dance and working with you I not only got to help plan the events…at least I thought I helped at the time…now I wonder… then I even got to attend.
After Class of ‘79 left, the class events didn’t hold a candle. As the years progressed each classes presentations and events became even more lack luster..just plain dull in other words. There were some bright spots along the way throughout the eighties but once we hit the nineties there was very little student participation in class events.
Somewhere in the nineties after principal Tom O’Keeffe left to go to Mt. Rainier HS…and Commi Babe Madame Jean Shumate came on board, she gave the job of class advisor to one of her cronies and started paying that person real money for the job. So whatever happened there in the early nineties didn’t really matter as much to me. It’s strange how that just happened, that jobs I used to just do like finding student counselors for Camp Waskowitz and leading up the King County Blood Donation Drive and who knows what else…once I was given the push out of the assignments, the new people got paid real money to do what I did for “fun”. Oh well…it was all good since I didn’t know any better.
Since I’m trying to think in chronological order I will pop in here with travel info…In 1985 my husband Dennis and I joined a group in New York’s Kennedy Airport that headed out to Eastern Turkey…Our goal was to climb Mt. Arrarat…but as luck would have it the Kurddish warriors were on the war path and we never got to go up the mountain…I have to tell you I am not a technical “climber” and it was never my goal to climb anything mountain like…just to hike! Steep is okay but I only enjoy it going up as coming down is always a challenge for me…We did hike among the Katchkar Mountains (I don’t recall the spelling but I know the name started with a “K” and sounded like I spelled it). The mountains were quite pleasant and we saw many Turkish women herding goats and cows and scampering up the steep slopes like they were daily exercise and took no effort…Not so for me!
Turkey is a wonderful place to visit and travel as an American…and still is even after 911…at least that is what people tell me…We haven’t been back sad to say…Our trip was organized by Col. James Irwin who had been an Apollo 15 astronaut and had walked on the moon in the late sixties or early seventies. He had made many, many trips to Mt. Arrarat in search of finding Noah’s Ark…This trip we were on was the only one open to anybody…so that’s how it all came about.
That trip sort of opened up the “need to travel” in my head so the following year over Christmas Vacation we took a TWA Getaway trip to Israel. I had always wanted to do Israel, Egypt and Jordan in one trip but that never manifested itself as at that time there was some restriction about going from Israel to Jordan. Now there is no restriction. I have to say that for me the most fun and enjoyment is meeting people and talking with them and learning how they live. I guess this is one of the things I live for as the places of historic value and importance are not what warms my heart. The Holocost Museum (not the correct name)…was a total wipe-out as I could not get over it for a very long time.
In 1987 we went to Switzerland and had several hiking adventures. The most fun was riding the trains into towns and cities and walking through them and having people holler out “Americans” so we got to stop and meet various people while traveling on the train. We talked with anyone who could speak English as that is still my first and last language.
Back in Christmas of ‘85 we traveled to Florida as that was going to precede the launch of the Challenger and we wanted to go to Kennedy Space Center, which we did and I filled out the paper work so I would receive “teacher stuff” from Christa McAllufie from space as they were launching about Jan. 26 ‘86. As you know, that launch never worked out…and I never got my teacher stuff from space. We did have a good time traveling around Florida even though my husband’s back went out just as it had in Turkey. That definitely limited our activities as he sometimes had to get a motel and just lay on the floor and hurt.
In August of 1988 my sister Kathy and I went with a group from our church to Papua New Guinea to help built a church. Again…I have no nail pounding skills but went along to help cook and do laundry. Actually my sister and I knew the missionaries who were living where we visited at the time and we got to stay in their home with them and take side trips with them. The side trips were priceless and staying with the missionaries in their home was a learning experience one would never read about. Needy people with all sorts of emotional and physical problems came to both the front and back doors until the lights were turned off. It rained hard every night at exactly 7:00 and the women went out to gather big crickets which they took home for their families to eat. No I will not be going back to PNG to visit as the heat even in their cool season was too humid for my body.
The summer…late June of 1989 we went to the Soviet Republic and Latvia, Lithoania and Estonia. Again it was a guided tour and I’m not even sure if the wall was down already and it was just plain Russia again. Whatever it was it was slim “pickens”. The food even for tourists was not what we are accustomed to…but it was a Great Adventure. The stores were mostly empty of food. I saw a woman selling cooking oil on the street…black market style. I soon learned about “black market”. Communism did not treat the people well and it was not efficient either. We saw tons of crops left to ruin in the fields because there was no transportation to get them to markets.
1990 during Christmas Vacation again we got to go to Egypt. We were there at least 12 or 13 days so we got to see the pyramids along the Nile and we got to stay with bedouins on the Sinai Desert, where we rode camels, saw Valley of the Kings and all the sights but mostly enjoyed the people and the food. My husband’s back went out while we were riding donkeys to the Valley of the Kings and the tour guide summoned a Cadillac taxi to take him back to our hotel. I was quite concerned because I was not “there” when it happened so wondered if I’d ever see him again. Fortunately things were not quite so terrorist like back in those days.
My husband and I both had parents with ailing health so we did not travel and have not traveled much since. We went with friends to Mexico in ‘92 and did a tour to the Greek Island of Crete to hike in August of ‘94. We also did the sights of Athens in August, where the heat started at 100 degrees in the morning and climbed to 120 at least by noon.
In 1997 we took our first cruise and went to the Caribbean. That was good and we now fully endorse cruising. When I retired in 2003, we did an Alaskan Cruise with our family.
Since I retired from Tyee, I have been subbing in both Kent and Highline School Districts. Since I live in Kent, I prefer the shorter drives but it is fun to revisit my old school and HHS and the Puget Sound Skills Center from time to time.
Since I was the the ripe old age of 28 when I got married, I thought I was too old to have kids, so I raised my husband’s two oldest kids, Tony and Kellie. They are now in their forties. In fact just today my granddaughter Leilani and her husband Bryan were up to attend some events in Seattle.
My husband’s youngest daughter, Adrienne, is now staying with us, as she is going through a divorce and so we have been sharing her pets and her life to add to the care giving of my husband’s dad. We have one other grandchild who is autistic and he lives at home with his parents as his handicap does not allow him to get into any of the adult homes.

Robert Macready
Marital Status: Divorced
Occupation: Works for City of Sedro-Woolley
Residence: Skagit Valley, Washington
Last Updated: 07.05.09
Bio: I was not much of a model student through Chinook and Tyee, (more like a pain in the butt to any and all faculty) and was therefore pulled from Tyee my senior year and placed me in an alternative class for disciplinary problems. I missed graduating by a couple of credits, so the following year I joined the Marine Corps trying to find some structure in my life. I like to think it worked as I stayed for 20 years. The Corps really turned my life around and allowed me the opportunity to grow, and achieve levels of leadership and responsibility I could have never imagined as a teen, not to mention travel the globe to places few every have the opportunity to see.
I married in 1986 and had a miracle son with her in 1990 after a battle with her having cancer. She left me soon after that and returned to the northwest. I began raising my son on my own when he was 3 years old while still managing my career as a Marine. I’ve managed to guide him into being a much better kid than I ever was by keeping him interested in sports especially football, his #1 passion. He graduated High School this year and will begin college in the fall.
As for me, I retired from the Corps in 2000 as a Gunnery Sergeant and returned to Washington, and bought a place in the upper Skagit Valley. I then used my disabled vet benefits to get a college degree in Environmental Conservation Technology, and am now working on a second retirement as a public employee working for the City of Sedro-Woolley.
Life is good, I have few regrets. It goes to show that even some of us early life screwballs can turn things around for the better…

Linda (White) Lusk
Marital Status: Married
Occupation: Boutique Owner
Residence: Prosser, Washington
Last Updated: 07.05.09
Bio: Married to Kevin Lusk, living in Prosser, WA. Mother of 3 boys, 1 girl and 2 stepsons. I own a handbag boutique, including jewelry and fashion accessories in Prosser. Kevin is the Principal of Prosser High School. Kevin and I were married 14 years ago. It’s incredibly hard to believe 30 years have passed since graduation! Here’s a brief history of my life during those past 30 years:
After graduation, I attended Green River Community College and worked for Nordstrom until I received a degree in Drafting, and then went to work for KPFF Engineers in downtown Seattle. I worked doing drafting until I was married and had my first child, Jordan, in 1990. Three years later, my son Taylor was born. Taylor was born with trisomy 13, also known as Pataue syndrome, which means he had an extra 13th chromosome. Medical professionals told me Taylor would not survive a week, but we were blessed for 16 wonderful years with this amazing boy! Taylor died unexpectedly in his sleep on March 30th, 2009.
Following a divorce, I was reunited with Kevin Lusk who had also divorced and had 2 boys. We married and had a daughter and a son. Those were crazy busy years, raising 6 kids- one with special needs. Once the kids were all in school, I substituted for Prosser School District as a para-ed professional, working mostly with the special needs children. I also became certified as a Yoga instructor and taught Yoga classes.
I took an interest in local politics and became the first woman Mayor for the City of Prosser in 2003, serving a 4 year term. After that, I opened a boutique in Prosser and that in a nut shell brings us to the here and now.
Anyone planning a trip to wine country is encouraged to look us up! We’re in the phone book, or pretty much any local could give you directions. Kevin and I plan to attend the reunion and look forward to seeing everyone.

Marital Status: Single
Occupation: Paper Sales
Residence:Pacific, Washington
Last Updated: 06.26.09
Bio: I was married to a great southern guy (straight out of Lousiana) for many years-I was widowed in 1996 (I have not remarried). Mom of two grown kids, one still at home going to college, my oldest son gave me a beautiful 5 year old grandaughter that is the apple of my eye! Love being a grandma! I can spoil her rotten then send her back home rotten! ha! We just moved to Pacific WA. I work for Unisource in the paper sales division for over 3 years now. I previously worked at Weyerhaeuser in their aviation department working with the helicopters & corporate jets-that was my favorite job because I got to fly on the helicopters and corporate jets-once you fly on those, commercial airliners are a thing of the past and you are spoiled! Presently I work 3 jobs-1 day full time job and 2 little evening part timers-I just got my business license and am in the process of starting my own business. My youngest son has been into bmx racing for many years now so I have been an active volunteer at Seatac bmx in my “spare” time and I take him traveling to national events in canada and the US (which means that these are my mini vacations as well as his sporting events for now-I have met alot of great people and have alot of very close friends still active in it) After my dad passed away, my mom finally sold the “old homestead” in Seatac-that was a sad day to see it sell. I am looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion!
